Public Defender

About Us

The Lawrence County Public Defender's Office is proud to represent adults and juveniles who have limited financial resources and are entitled by law to be represented by an attorney in the proceeding in which they are involved.  In order to be eligible for our services, individuals must apply for an attorney in court and the judge must make a determination that they are entitled to court-appointed counsel. There is no distinction between the obligations of a public defender toward the client and the duties of a private attorney in the same circumstances, we strive to provide excellent legal representation to every client, with dignity, pride and integrity.
