Description of Duties: |
Answers
phone, dispatches radio messages, operates CAD systems, performs all types of
public safety telecommunications, possesses a working knowledge of the
general geographical area of the county and other specific areas of concern
in order to adequately carry out their assignment, ensures that all personnel
are in compliance with the office policy and procedures, maintains a good
working relationship with other Law Enforcement Agencies, and other duties as
required. |

Experience/Education: |
Telecommunicator
Experience Desired. High School
Diploma or GED equivalent required.
He/She must be capable of obtaining a South Dakota 911
Telecommunicator Certificate and capable of completing an Office approved,
Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) course. |

|
Additional Information: |
He/She
must be capable of obtaining a working knowledge of Telecommunicator
Duties. He/She must be capable of
becoming fluent in the LCSO Division I, Policy Manual. He/She must possess sound interpersonal
skills which would enable them to work with fellow staff, court officers, and
the general public. He/She must be able to type 35 words per minute, pass a
hearing test and a pre-employment drug screen. He/She must be able to multi-task and speak
clearly in high stress situations. |
