- The County Assistance Office is responsible for:

- Medical Assistance for indigent residents of Lawrence
County who do not have health insurance or any other means of paying medical bills. Based
on income and need. Applications available upon request.

- Economic Assistance available for rent, utilities and
burials. Rent and utilities assistance may be approved once in a 12 month period.
Applications available upon request.

- All county assistance is considered to be a loan. Monthly
payments, or workfare, is required.
